Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price?
At Pupstoria, we believe in transparency when it comes to pricing, and that's why we provide all our pricing information on our online booking system. However, we also believe that price shouldn't be the only factor to consider when choosing a pet care service provider. With many years of experience, we have refined our processes and procedures to provide the best possible care for your pets. In addition, we have a Dog Mayor ensuring that you always have a reliable point of contact in case any issues arise. Our online system also ensures consistency and accuracy in following your instructions, providing you with peace of mind while you are away from your furry friends. While price is important, we encourage you to consider these other factors when choosing a pet service provider. At Pupstoria, we are committed to providing the highest quality care for your pets, and we look forward to serving you and your furry friends.
Who will enter my home?
Pupstoria ensures that clients feel confident and safe about their decision by having a team of dog-loving pet-handlers and a Dog Mayor who coordinates your pet services. Before scheduling, clients have a free consultation with the Dog Mayor to go over their pet's routine and needs. Pupstoria has a team of certified pet-handlers available in case of emergencies and ensures that 100% of all visits are completed. The Dog Mayor monitors pet-handlers' performance to ensure safety protocols and client instructions are followed, and provides photo updates to the client. With Pupstoria, clients can have complete peace of mind knowing their pets are well taken care of.
What is the duration of a typical dog walk?
The typical dog walk duration can vary depending on the needs of the dog and the owner's preferences. However, a typical dog walk usually lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. For more active or high-energy dogs, longer walks or more frequent walks may be necessary. It is important to consider the individual needs of the dog and to ensure they get enough exercise and mental stimulation to stay healthy and happy.
How many dogs do you walk at once?
The number of dogs that a dog walker walks at once can vary depending on several factors, such as logistics, the dog walker's experience and training, and the behavior and needs of the dogs being walked.
Pupstoria handlers typically walk 1-3 dogs at a time depending on their skills and the dogs' behavior. It is important for a dog walker to ensure that they can safely control and supervise all the dogs in their care during the walk.
How do you handle bad weather?
Pupstoria takes inclement weather very seriously and has policies in place to ensure the safety and comfort of pets during extreme weather conditions.
During hot weather, dog walkers may adjust the service time to avoid exposure to extreme heat. They will also ensure that dogs have access to fresh water before, during, and after the walk, and avoid walking on hot pavement to prevent burns on their paws.
During cold weather, dog walkers will ensure that dogs are dressed appropriately for the weather, and limit the time spent outside to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures.
In the event of severe weather conditions such as thunderstorms, snowstorms, or hurricanes, Pupstoria may cancel or reschedule walks for the safety of the pets and the walkers. In such cases, Pupstoria will notify the clients as soon as possible and work with them to find a suitable alternative.
What happens if my dog is aggressive towards other dogs or people during a walk?
If a dog becomes aggressive during a walk, Pupstoria's handlers are trained to handle such situations. They are instructed to prioritize the safety of the dog and themselves, as well as others who may be in the area. Depending on the situation, the dog walker may try to calm the dog down and continue with the walk, or may decide to cut the walk short and return the dog to its home.
In some cases, the dog walker may need to contact the pet owner or an emergency contact to inform them of the situation and seek further guidance. It is important for pet owners to inform their dog walker of any potential behavioral issues or triggers that their dog may have, so that the dog walker can be prepared and take appropriate measures.
How do I know my dog is safe during a walk?
Pupstoria ensures the safety and well-being of dogs by providing a personalized approach, leash and collar checks, safe walking routes, small group sizes, avoiding extreme weather, vigilant supervision, and emergency preparation. The handler gets to know the dog's personality and special needs and chooses safe walking routes appropriate for the dog. Pupstoria may limit the number of dogs walked at one time and have policies for extreme weather. The handler supervises the dogs during the walk, pays attention to signs of distress, and has a plan in case of an emergency.
